About This Spot
Stepping into The Village Green Cafe Bar feels like entering a beloved neighborhood retreat where familiar warmth and easy comfort invite you to pause and reconnect. Nestled on Richmond Lane, this spot pulses with a gentle, unhurried rhythm — the kind that encourages relaxed conversation over well-crafted food and thoughtful drinks.
The atmosphere blends casual charm with a friendly attentiveness that never feels intrusive. Whether it’s a quiet morning catching the light over a steaming cup of tea or a bustling lunch where the hum of shared moments fills the air, there’s a sense of homegrown hospitality that gently embraces you.
Here, the menu reads like a snapshot of quintessential British favorites, approached with an understanding of fresh ingredients and honest flavor. From a hearty English breakfast that fuels your day to a perfectly crisped fish dish served just as you hope, the offerings feel both reassuring and thoughtfully prepared. Small surprises appear, too — a panini with a touch of cranberry or a lively chicken satay — showing a playful spirit that keeps the experience grounded and engaging.
The Village Green is a place that welcomes all kinds of local gatherings: spontaneous breakfasts, relaxed lunches with friends, or special moments like family meals filled with laughter and connection. It’s an inviting setting where the details matter—from the polished yet unpretentious plates to the subtle attentiveness of the staff, who manage to be present without overwhelming.
In these everyday interactions, the café bar quietly nurtures bonds, making it less about the occasion and more about simply being together in a space that feels thoughtfully crafted for comfort and community.

Very nice food. Quite long waiting time considering we didn’t order anything too exciting but it was fairly busy. Chairs very uncomfortable but atmosphere was nice and food was great! Staff really polite and present but without hovering around which we really appreciated. Definitely will be back, trying to get a booth this time.

I attended my friend’s baby shower today and thoroughly enjoyed the food. I had the sea bass off the main menu and it was cooked perfectly! I recently attended my Grandma’s 90th at The Pipe and Glass and had sea bass there and it was overcooked, today the chef crisped the skin and the fish was Devine. The service and atmosphere was also very good, thank you.

Came here for a breakfast completely out the blue and it was lovely. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Fast service, food came out quick and the prices were fair. Nice clean place with a good atmosphere. No faults at all

Updated Review (Second Visit) This was my second visit to Village Green, and my first Christmas Eve with my Aunt, Uncle, and Grandma in two years. The food and service were spot on couldn’t have asked for better. Simple night, good company, great food. First Visit (Good Friday) Visited Village Green in Kingswood Village for Good Friday, and it was an absolutely lovely experience. The area itself is charming, and the service was impeccable. The Fish and Chips special was a standout crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish, and the curry sauce added a rich, flavorful touch. Huge compliments to the team for accommodating my aunt’s allergies by cooking her fish separately thoughtful service like that makes all the difference! Only small thing: the pudding had raspberries on top, which I personally would prefer without. I’m sure next time they’d happily adjust it. Overall, a fantastic spot highly recommend visiting and supporting this wonderful business!
